Funny Testicular Cancer Greeting Card
Inspiration behind the Funny Testicular Cancer Greeting Card
This Funny Testicular Cancer Greeting Card card was inspired by Jonny Imerman, founder of Imerman Angels. Jonny is a young adult testicular cancer survivor, and during a hospital stay while receiving chemotherapy, his cousin sent him a gift. Jonny had recently had one of his testicals removed due to the cancer, and his cousin knew he liked to joke about being a one-nut guy. He opened the neatly wrapped gift to uncover a box of mixed nuts, with a note that said, “Hey, I heard you needed some nuts.”
Humor is Healing
We’ve heard over and over that humor has helped so many cancer patients get through their darkest times, and you may be surprised that their sense of humor is more crass than you would think appropriate. Although this kind of humor isn’t for everyone, we’ve seen these types of cards and jokes be very well received by cancer patients. Funny cards and shirts can be extremely uplifting and encouraging for patients in the midst of a seemingly endless treatment regimen.
Make him feel loved by gifting him a funny shirt and tote bag too! Don’t forget, humor is healing and works great for comic relief, but cancer can be a very sensitive subject. But be sure to round it out with lots of love and caring – call him often and offer to help. Here’s an article to make sure he knows you care: 28 Ways to Show You Care
